Old stuff, new links, and old stuff in new links

I have years worth of funny images never before shared by me (except maybe as an RT on Twitter), here are two I swiped exactly one year ago today.

Two years ago today this caught my eye:

Three years and three days ago today I took this picture of the back of my car:

And five years ago today I saved this:

TV station bakes what clearly should be edibles on a car dash parked in the sun.

How candidates baked their numbers for the last reporting period.

Kamala Harris raising money like a Clinton.

Warren and the intersectional guys. [Only two puns intended, let me know if there are more than that!]

Speaker Pelosi admits that she does her very best to avoid being who she really truly is while on the job:

I must convess to occasionally being stunned by how openly some online media prep readers for upcoming stories. This doesn't even qualify as a topic of serious conversation, it's just another balloon of nitrous for Her core supporters/cultists. That people sit in a room and create these memes is deeply disturbing. They serve no purpose other than to keep Hillary Clinton's reputation from going up in flames. They're propping Her up until Bill and Epstain drag Her down with them, and then it won't be Her fault. Bartender, another round.

Deep thoughts about fascism. A different way of looking at it and given that fascism is whatever it needs to be to win, a good update on how to evaluate this kind of threat. Good exploration of the question of whether or not fascism is something that could exist without democracy.

Fully prepared. Mueller is a master of redundancy, not so good at actual facts.

Union fraud? Yeah, the kind where all the money seems to stick to someone named Tony but he's not the one that's going to prison.

Has there ever been a candy that stuck to your teeth worse than a Butterfingers?

Just got a weird little usb-driven one-room AC unit that uses water somehow. Haven't turned it on because it's cool today, but maybe it will come in handy during Hoedown. Definitely a lifesaver for anyone using the guest room in August! (assuming it works)

Any feedback on the Boing Boing Store? Trying to avoid Amazon as much as possible, but beginning to realize that you can't rely on department stores anymore for a lot of things. Like the vaporizer I just ordered. Tobacco shops sell them, but not a good selection. NEVER MIND. Just checked the weather and a sudden infusion of ads for everything I ever bought from Boing Boing Store loaded up all over the page.

I suck at shopping, but in my defense I am very good at boycotts.

Also in my defense, I do nonessentials buying fairly well. This is made from coffee wood and is from Bali. Still trying to figure out a better place for it but in all honesty the back entry/laundry room is where I'd see it most often, and I bought it for me to see so it may just hang from the wall right where it is now. Fwiw, it's much warmer and friendlier in person (less spiderish -- ick!).
